The Ukrainian Women’s Wrestling Team took first place in the team standings at the U20 European Championship. In Caorle, Italy, our athletes won four medals. In particular, gold medals were awarded to Anastasia Polska (53 kg), Oleksandra Ryback (68 kg), and Nadia Sokolovska (76 kg), while Irina Borysyuk (65 kg) won a bronze medal.
Greco-Roman Wrestling
It is also worth noting that the Ukrainian Greco-Roman Wrestling Team finished third in the team standings at the U20 European Championship in Italy. Our wrestlers secured seven medals, including silver for Yegor Yakushenko (97 kg) and Vladislav Pokotilo (67 kg), while bronze medals were won by Pavlo Toryanyk (87 kg), Ivan Yankovsky (130 kg), Makhsut Sultano (60 kg), Anatoliy Pasnak (72 kg), and Kirylo Shnyryov (82 kg).
Ukrainian juniors also showed high results at the European Diving Championship. The competitions took place in the capital of Greece - Athens, where the Ukrainian team demonstrated impressive achievements. A total of 176 athletes from 27 countries participated in the competition, and Ukraine was represented by 13 athletes, including newcomers.
Results and Conclusion
Having won a total of 12 medals, our juniors demonstrated a high level of skill, courage, and team spirit. In the end, Ukraine secured 6 gold, 3 silver, and 3 bronze medals.
The events at the European Championships in wrestling and diving showcased the high level of training of Ukrainian athletes. The Ukrainian teams achieved significant results, with some athletes winning gold, indicating the strong competitiveness of Ukrainian sports in Europe.
The Ukrainian Women’s Wrestling Team and the Greco-Roman Wrestling Team showed impressive results at the U20 European Championships in Italy. The teams of both disciplines achieved important victories and medals, reflecting the high level of preparation and professionalism of Ukrainian athletes.
