A closed screening of the Ukrainian documentary film 'Flowers on a Dark Background' was held in Kyiv, which tells about the terrible experience of occupation and Ukraine's struggle against the enemy. The film reveals three intertwined stories at the end of spring 2022: a couple of artists, fighters from the 72nd Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and a priest who shared important moments of the war.

Director Iryna Prawylo explained that the film aimed to showcase heroes and encourage viewers to support Ukrainian messages. She noted that the decision to make a full-length film arose from the conviction that it was necessary to reflect events that became horrific witnesses for her team.

The film has already received support for an English adaptation and is set to premiere in spring 2026, planned for the anniversary of the liberation of Kyiv region from the occupiers.
