Electricity Tariff for the Population - What Will Happen to Prices in 2025.

The updated Memorandum of the International Monetary Fund has sparked discussions about the possible increase in electricity tariffs in Ukraine. According to experts, there is a likelihood of prices rising from 4.32 UAH to 6 UAH per kWh for utility consumers. However, some statements from outgoing officials clarified that there are currently no economic grounds for increasing utility tariffs.
The summer period also increases the risks of electricity outages due to generation shortages. According to the director of energy and gas market at the Ministry of Economic Development, Omelchenko, as of July 2025, there is no deficit, and the energy system operates stably even under difficult conditions.
The potential increase in electricity and gas tariffs for the population and business due to IMF requirements, and the possibility of power outages in the summer, are pressing issues that require attention and consideration. It is worth reminding that Kyiv residents have already been charged debts for electricity due to tariff changes, so these issues remain timely in Ukrainian society.
