The Lychakiv District Court in Lviv found a soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine guilty. He once again committed unauthorized departure from his unit.

This is stated in the Unified State Register of Court Decisions.

Case Details

The court examined the case of the accused soldier of the special battalion 'Shkval', who had previously been convicted for the same crime. In 2023, the Yavoriv District Court sentenced him to 6 years and 1 month of imprisonment. In May 2024, as a convicted person, he signed a contract with the Armed Forces and returned to service.

However, in December 2024, he unauthorizedly left the unit and returned only in April 2025. In court, he admitted his guilt, but refused to explain his actions.

Court Decision

Considering the circumstances of the case, the judge found the soldier guilty under part 5 of Article 407 and sentenced him to a total of 7 years of imprisonment.

It was previously reported that in Kremenchuk, a soldier unlawfully left his place of service due to family circumstances. He explained his actions by the necessity to care for two young children after their mother left them.

In the Odesa region, a combat medic was tried for evading mobilization.

The court proceedings in Lviv confirmed the guilt of the soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in unauthorized departure from the unit and imposed corresponding penalties. This case is just one of many instances of violation of official duty in the Ukrainian army that require careful oversight and appropriate actions from military authorities.
