Minimum Wage in Germany in 2025
The minimum wage is the lowest level of pay that is enshrined in the laws of the country. This is the minimum that an employee should receive from their employer.
According to the Studying-in-Germany portal, as of January 1, 2025, the minimum wage is 12.82 euros per hour, which represents a certain increase compared to last year.
Currently, the minimum wage in Germany is 2,222 euros per month for full-Time employment. Over the past decade, the country has regularly raised the minimum wage, which has improved working conditions for many citizens.
Plans for Further Increases
According to a decision by a special commission, by 2027 the minimum wage should rise to 14.60 euros per hour. Representatives of trade unions and employers are counting on a gradual increase to support low-income individuals and improve their economic situation.
These changes are expected to help ensure a higher standard of living for minimum wage workers and promote social justice in Germany.
