When should you write 'Birthday' with a capital letter? The linguist explained the rule.

Philologist Olga Vasilyeva explained when it is necessary to write 'birthday' with a capital letter, and when it can be written in lowercase. Many people are confused about this issue, as they want to show respect to their birthday person.
According to the linguist, in greetings on cards or social media, you can write both 'Day' and 'You' with a capital letter to show special respect for a person. She refers to paragraph 52 of the new spelling rules, which states that in the names of historical events, eras, calendar periods, and holidays, the first (or only) word and proper names are written with a capital letter. However, Birthday is not a historical holiday, so it can be written in lowercase.
Days of birth of outstanding individuals, such as Simone de Beauvoir for feminists or Louis Braille for blind people, can also be written with a capital letter.
Earlier, linguist Olga Vasilyeva explained how to greet correctly - 'Good morning!' or 'Good morning!'. She noted that the assertion that 'Good morning' is incorrect while 'Good day' and 'Good evening' are correct is absurd.
Olga Vasilyeva also pointed out the incorrect pronunciation of the name of the Korean car brand Hyundai in Ukraine. She noted that reading errors seep into the language and remain in the public. Recently, she also criticized a report by the TV channel '1+1' about feminatives, claiming that the expert evaluation of her colleague was unprofessional.
