The Price of Escape — FSB Interrogates Ukrainians in Basements in Transnistria.

In search of escape from mobilization, Ukrainian men attempted to cross the border through Transnistria, but instead of rescue, they faced interrogations in basements. This has become a tool for the FSB to gather intelligence about Ukraine. Organizers were smuggling groups of people for large sums of money, and then demanded information from them under psychological pressure and threats.
Interrogated individuals confessed under pressure, fearing that their data would be passed on to the Russian side. The MGB, controlled by Russia, conducted interrogations and coerced confessions, using fines for 'illegal border crossing.'
The MGB, led by a former FSB employee, operated on the territory of the unrecognized Transnistrian Moldovan Republic, controlling border units and engaging in intelligence and counterintelligence activities.
